Those answers let us bring the right springs, cables, and rollers on the first trip instead of guessing.
A phone quote on a straightforward repair - a broken cable, a sensor out of alignment, a worn roller - is usually close to the final number, because those parts are standard sizes. What we can't price over the phone is anything involving the door panels themselves, the track alignment, or a full replacement. Doors built in different decades use different track widths and spring configurations, and we won't quote a number we can't stand behind once we're looking at the actual hardware.

Where We Travel
We're based in Golden and run most of our work within a short drive: West Pleasant View and Applewood, both about 2 miles out, and Genesee and Idledale around 5 miles. Morrison is 7 miles, Kittredge and Indian Hills about 8, and Evergreen sits at roughly 10 miles.
Farther out we still cover Berkley, Sheridan, Twin Lakes, Sherrelwood, North Washington, Superior, and Federal Heights, all in the 11-to-13-mile range, along with Eldorado Springs, Coal Creek, and Aspen Park near 14 miles. Beyond that we reach Welby, Glendale, Black Hawk, Idaho Springs, Cherry Hills Village, Louisville, and Central out to about 16 miles, with Derby at 17.
We also work the closer-in pockets around Golden itself - Golden Gate Canyon to the northwest, Applewood West, Mount Vernon, the Genesee neighborhoods to the southwest, Tanoa & Hiwan and Soda Creek And M&B farther southwest, and Evergreen West Central, Evergreen Meadows, and Conifer Mountain & Meadows out past that. The Work We Take On
Most of the houses we work on in this service area were built between 1938 and 1997, with a lot of them clustered in the 1960s and '70s across the twenty-six named areas we cover. That era means a mix of original torsion hardware, older extension-spring setups, and openers that have been swapped out once or twice already but still run on the same track from decades ago. We work on all of it - springs, cables, rollers, tracks, openers, and full door replacements when a panel is too far gone to patch.
Winters here are genuinely cold, and cold makes old grease seize and metal contract, which is when a marginal spring or a stiff roller finally gives out. We see more calls in that kind of weather, and we price and stock accordingly.
What we don't do is guess at a quote for body damage, rot, or a door that's been hit by a vehicle, without seeing it first - too many variables in panel condition and frame squareness to call it over the phone. We also won't tell you a repair is the right call if the door and opener are both near the end of their life; sometimes the honest quote is for a new door, not another patch on an old one.

We cover Golden and the surrounding areas out to roughly 17 miles, including Evergreen, Idaho Springs, Superior, and Federal Heights. If your address is close to that edge, call and we'll confirm whether we can get there that week.
What can't you quote without seeing the door?
Body damage, rot, bent track, or anything where the panel itself might need replacing. Those jobs vary too much house to house to price blind, so we hold off on a firm number until we've looked at it in person.
